Alyia Argyle’s Alta High lacrosse teammates completed the backyard remodel she had started less than a month after the 16-year-old died on Aug. 21. KSTU reported that Argyle, who had epilepsy, died after a seizure; her mother said she was grateful for the gesture.
Argyle’s best friend, Hannah Qureshi, said she wanted to support the family and help make Argyle’s dreams and unfinished projects come true. Her mother, Melissa Christensen, said the teammates worked hard to plan the project and that Argyle would have loved the result.
A GoFundMe was set up to help Christensen and her family with funeral expenses and living costs. In a Sept. 12 update, organizer Nicole Svee Magann said the funds raised had helped cover funeral costs and unexpected bills and support the family while Christensen grieved and cared for her children.
