West Midlands businessman and Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green Airport owner Anthony “Tony” Hall was one of three people killed when a plane crashed near Leukerbad in Switzerland on 15 September; Welsh businessman Owain Davies was also identified as a British victim.
Authorities said the Cirrus SR22T took off from Sion airport in the Rhône Valley and hit a mountain slope about 10 minutes later; the cause was unknown. The Swiss Transportation Safety Board has begun an investigation.
Hall’s family said they were heartbroken, described him as a devoted husband and father, and asked for privacy. The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said it was supporting the families of two British nationals who died in Switzerland and was in contact with local authorities.
