Steve McBee Sr. marked son Steven Jr.’s 33rd birthday on Sept. 21 with a childhood fishing photo and a message thanking God for him. The tribute came 10 days after Sr.’s Sept. 11 release from prison; Jr. has since shared photos of them together with family on the farm.
In his birthday message, Sr. said watching Steven grow from a boy following him around the farm into the man he is today had been the greatest blessing of his life. Before Sr. returned, Steven told the Aug. 24 podcast Roxanne and Shantel that he hoped prison would give his father time to reflect and that changes in his words and behavior would last.
