Elizabeth Holmes is scheduled to move to the Austin Transitional Center in Del Valle, Texas, on Aug. 23, 2027, while remaining in federal custody. A DOJ source says she will be able to leave for work once her job is approved and return under supervision.
The Bureau of Prisons says residential reentry centers help people nearing release reconnect with their communities and may provide job-placement, employment-counseling and financial-management services. Holmes will be allowed visitors, including her children, but overnight guests are not permitted.
Holmes was convicted in 2022 of three wire-fraud counts and one wire-fraud conspiracy count involving Theranos investors; jurors acquitted her on several patient-related charges and deadlocked on three other investor counts. Her reduced sentence is 10 years and 3 months, with release projected for Feb. 22, 2030. A federal appeals court upheld her convictions and a $452 million restitution order involving Holmes and former Theranos executive Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani in 2025. The documentary *You Can See Everything* follows Holmes and partner Billy Evans before her imprisonment and has helped bring the case back into the spotlight.
