Carly Rae Jepsen and husband Cole M.G.N. planted secret songs in their wedding playlist as a cue to reunite for a dance or brief break. Jepsen says they stayed together all night and barely needed the signal; their first anniversary is Oct. 4.
The wedding took place at Hotel Chelsea in New York City. Jepsen said they had asked to step away after the ceremony; amid the surrounding bustle, they stood together outside and took in that the marriage was real.
The pair were friends and collaborators before they fell in love. M.G.N. co-wrote and co-produced a song on Jepsen’s 2023 album The Loveliest Time; they later created seven songs together for her double album Day and Night, including “Motivation.” They welcomed their son, Ilya Blue, in March.
