A review of the Yankees’ 2026 minor-league seasons at Somerset, Hudson Valley and Tampa finds more promise in hitting than pitching; Josh Moylan led the farm with 29 homers, while 18-year-old Yostin Pena excelled in his first full-season campaign.
At Double-A Somerset, Moylan posted a 118 wRC+ across 68 games after a late-June promotion from High-A. At High-A Hudson Valley, Jackson Lovich hit 24 home runs and stole 41 bases, becoming the first Yankee in 32 years to reach both totals. Tampa’s Pena hit above .350 after skipping the GCL/FCL rookie-level leagues and moving from the Dominican Summer League straight to full-season ball; he was the first Yankee in nine years to make that jump.
On the mound, Somerset’s Xavier Rivas posted a 3.65 ERA in 81.1 innings but struggled in Triple-A. Hudson Valley’s Luis Serna returned to the prospect picture after a healthy season, throwing 118.2 innings and setting the club’s single-season strikeout record with 140. Tampa prospect Dax Kilby managed only 154 plate appearances while missing several months with recurring hamstring issues.
