Jesni Sam sued The Revere venue and helicopter operator Prestige Helicopters over a May 29 crash that killed her husband Dave Fiji and pilot Nikhil Nargundkar and seriously injured her. She alleges the post-wedding flight should have been canceled because of dangerous weather.
Sam's wrongful-death complaint for damages was filed on Sept. 22, nearly four months after the crash. It alleges The Revere lacked adequate safety standards and a plan to cancel its venue-arranged “Helicopter Send-Off” in bad weather. The Revere declined to comment; Prestige Helicopters did not immediately respond.
The complaint says Sam was trapped in the wreckage for nearly six hours, with Fiji's body on top of her. The NTSB said initial impact evidence showed the helicopter struck tall trees before hitting terrain in a heavily wooded area. The investigation is ongoing; a final report on probable cause and contributing factors is expected in 12–24 months.
