Two people found a suitcase containing the body of Lorretta M. Moody, 67, outside Wichita's Fire Station 22 on Sept. 16. Police were called at about 6:25 p.m. and are investigating her death as a homicide; Moody had been reported missing.
Police said detectives are working to establish how Moody came to be brought to the fire station and have interviewed several people, including the two who found the suitcase. The department said it had no information indicating an ongoing threat to the public.
Her granddaughter Alexis Trotter told KWCH that Moody was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother and said she wants those responsible for her death to come forward.
