Ryan Vanzo of The Motley Fool argues Uber may be a better robotaxi stock than Tesla, citing its established ride-hailing demand and shares trading at 14 times free cash flow, versus more than 200 times for Tesla. He expects both to become major players.
Vanzo sees Tesla as having a potential supply-side edge, citing years of self-driving software investment and its ability to make low-cost robotaxis at scale in the U.S. He says Uber is working to secure supply through investments in EV makers Rivian and Lucid, along with several autonomous-driving software firms.
Cathie Wood, Ark Invest’s CEO, believes the global robotaxi market could eventually be worth $8 trillion to $10 trillion. A McKinsey survey cited in the article found experts expect large-scale rollout by 2030 and robotaxis to be the first commercial Level 4 application in mobility, ahead of privately owned cars.
