The RNLI says patrols at some beaches in Devon, Cornwall and Jersey will move to weekend-only cover from 28 September to 18 October and during October half-term; four Cornwall beaches will retain daily patrols until 1 November.
Weekend-only patrols are planned at Bantham, Croyde and Woolacombe in Devon; Tregonhawke, Praa Sands, Crantock, Towan, Watergate Bay, Mawgan Porth, Porthtowan, Chapel Porth, Gwithian North, Hayle Towans, Constantine, Harlyn, Polzeath, Widemouth and Summerleaze in Cornwall; and Le Braye in Jersey. Daily patrols will continue at Fistral, Perranporth, Porthmeor and Sennen until 1 November. The RNLI urged visitors to choose a lifeguarded beach and check conditions before entering the water.
