The Chargers signed wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling from their practice squad to the active roster, bringing the team to six active wideouts. With Ladd McConkey still healing from a rib injury, Valdes-Scantling could see snaps against the Bills if needed.
The roster move follows the Chargers’ release of wide receiver Greg Jennings after they signed tight end Hayden Rucci from the Jaguars’ practice squad. Valdes-Scantling joined the Chargers’ practice squad in Week Two.
Valdes-Scantling last appeared in an NFL game with Pittsburgh and finished the 2025 season with 14 catches for 120 yards and a touchdown across stints with the Steelers and 49ers. He caught four touchdowns for New Orleans in 2024, spent the offseason with Dallas and turns 32 next week.
