Police said a Russian drone hit a 16-storey apartment block in Kyiv's Pechersk district Friday morning, killing a 14-year-old boy and injuring at least seven. Odesa's regional governor also reported one killed and another injured in Russian strikes there.
Odesa regional governor Oleh Kiper described the strikes as massive and said they hit a residential area and the logistics premises of a postal operator. Emergency services separately reported one injury in the overnight attack on Kyiv and fires in non-residential buildings in two city districts; the report does not reconcile that injury figure with police's tally of at least seven injured at the Pechersk building.
The Russian Defense Ministry said Friday that its forces carried out overnight drone strikes on Ukrainian defense-industry facilities, logistics centers and vessels used by Ukraine's armed forces. Russia denies deliberately targeting civilians in the war.
