Turkish Airlines has confirmed a firm order for 100 Boeing 737-8 jets, with options for 50 more and substitution rights for the larger 737-10. Announced Sept. 23, the deal supports its target of operating more than 800 aircraft by 2033.
The 737-10 has not yet received FAA approval for commercial service. Boeing says it expects certification in 2026 and plans its first delivery for 2027; planned flight testing was completed in July, leaving final documentation and approval.
The order firms up the first 100 jets from Turkish Airlines’ 2025 announcement that it intended to buy as many as 150 737 MAX aircraft. The airline also aims for new-generation aircraft to make up 90% of its fleet by 2033 and 100% by 2035.
