Trump criticized Bill Maher’s and Joe Scarborough’s ratings Monday, saying “Morning Joe” would soon be “dead.” Scarborough replied that it is D.C.’s No. 1 cable morning show; Mediaite put its August average at 733,000 viewers, up 27% year over year.
On Truth Social, Trump said Maher’s ratings were so low that he doubted HBO’s Real Time could continue and urged Republicans to stop using the show as a sounding board, saying it made them look weak and foolish. Some Republican lawmakers have used Maher’s program to share their views as he has become more vocal in criticizing left and progressive positions.
The posts came about a week after the White House announced TrumpTV, a 24/7 broadcast of Trump-related content, and just over a week after Trump barred reporters from CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House.
