Tina Black, whose real name is Valesca Machado, faces Melissa Amaya in the TUF 34 strawweight final at UFC Vegas 121 on Sept. 26. Black says she expects to win the tournament and sees the trophy as a step toward a UFC belt.
Black reached the final with wins over Natalia Alves and Delphine Benouaich. Amaya earned her place with finishes of Anna Melisano and GiGi Canuto; Black praised her for surviving submission attempts without tapping.
Black’s professional record is 15-4 with one no-contest, not counting her two TUF fights, which are officially classified as exhibition bouts. She has also won titles in Invicta FC and A1 Combat, and said the Invicta tournament was harder because she had to fight twice in one night.
