Draper urged Apple and Meta to hold Bitcoin worth at least four weeks of operating expenses, calling it “irresponsible” not to. In a Sept. 21 interview, he cited U.S. spending and possible hyperinflation or very high interest rates.
Draper also claimed that board members of a public company without Bitcoin could be personally liable for two to four weeks of employee compensation if a bank holding the company’s cash failed. He cited no law or case for the claim. He also said individuals should keep around six months of reserves in Bitcoin.
TheStreet says Strategy holds about 846,000 BTC, while critics such as Peter Schiff call Bitcoin worthless. Apple and Meta have not disclosed any Bitcoin holdings.
