AP voter Brett McMurphy’s Week 5 ballot keeps Texas at No. 1, followed by Georgia, Ohio State, Miami and Notre Dame. He drops six teams and adds six; the official AP poll was scheduled for around 2 p.m. ET on Sept. 27, 2026.
McMurphy removes Louisville, Michigan, Penn State, USC, Texas A&M and West Virginia from his top 25, while adding Mississippi State, Boise State, Pittsburgh, UCLA, Duke and Cincinnati.
His ballot’s remaining top-10 teams are Alabama at No. 6, Florida at No. 7, Ole Miss at No. 8, Indiana at No. 9 and LSU at No. 10.
