Taylor Frankie Paul said Sept. 21 she is leaving Hulu’s “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” after five seasons, ending her planned Season 6 return. She accused castmates of months of bullying and said comments about her children crossed a line.
One week earlier, Mikayla Matthews announced she was leaving, saying she had agreed to film Season 6 only if an unnamed cast member did not return. She said she stopped filming when told that person was coming back; People reported Paul had been invited back. Matthews said she remains contractually bound to film confessionals tied to footage already shot but does not plan to resume regular filming. Paul acknowledged some backlash came from her own actions.
Season 6 began filming in July without Paul. Hulu released all five episodes of a shortened Season 5 on Sept. 10 after production paused earlier in the year amid police investigations involving Paul and ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen. No criminal charges were filed in the 2026 dispute, while separate custody proceedings involving Paul, Mortensen and her ex-husband Tate Paul continued. TMZ, citing sources familiar with the cases, reported Paul allegedly failed multiple court-ordered drug tests and her parenting time was later reduced; she has not publicly addressed the reported results.
