Washington’s run game is struggling amid injuries to its running backs and a young offensive line yet to mesh in zone blocking. Short passes helped Washington maintain control against Eastern Washington, but their value against stronger conference opponents remains untested.
According to the Seattle Times, the rushing attack is not Jedd Fisch’s biggest concern as Washington enters conference play. Ahead of its Week Four matchup with Minnesota, Washington listed defensive backs Rahshawn Clark and Emmanuel Karnley, defensive lineman DeSean Watts and offensive lineman Landen Hatched as questionable; defensive lineman Elinneus Davis and edge Logan George were probable.
Edge prospect Jalanie George, one of the nation’s top recruits and close to five-star status, is due to announce his college choice Oct. 1; the roundup says Washington appears well-positioned to land him. The women’s soccer team visits Michigan Thursday at 4 p.m. PT for a matchup of two nationally top-20 teams. Husky Jacob Manu was named a semifinalist for the 2026 William V. Campbell Trophy, the second straight year a Washington player has earned the recognition.
