Police said four people were killed and four wounded in a Friday-night shooting in Green Hill near Kingstown. Two wounded people remained in hospital Saturday; no arrests had been made, and police had not established a motive for the apparent gang-related attack.
The killings came as authorities confronted gang violence and retaliatory attacks involving rival groups. Police had recorded 37 homicides in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines so far this year and said they were stepping up patrols, searches and intelligence sharing among police units.
