Robbie Lawler will make his Real American Freestyle debut against former UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev in a catchweight wrestling bout at RAF 14 on Oct. 23 at Fontainebleau in Las Vegas. It will be Lawler’s first competition since retiring from MMA in 2023.
Lawler, 44, was an all-state wrestler at Bettendorf, Iowa, but had not competed beyond high school. His last MMA appearance was a knockout of Niko Price at UFC 290 in 2023.
Chimaev is 2-0 in RAF, with fall wins over Dillon Danis and Tyron Woodley. The three-time Swedish national wrestling champion began competing in the promotion this summer. RAF 14 is headlined by a title bout between Arman Tsarukyan and Danis.
