Meghan L. Hall reported on X that Rhyne Howard tied the WNBA single-season record with 100 steals as the Atlanta Dream beat the New York Liberty 83-65 on Wednesday. The win clinched Atlanta the fourth playoff seed; its first-round opponent remains undetermined.
Atlanta is waiting to learn its first-round opponent. Indiana, currently fifth, would face the Dream if it remains there, but Indiana and sixth-place Washington each had one regular-season game left to play.
Hall's post identified Teresa Weatherspoon as the original record-holder and said she was courtside for the game.
