RØDE’s free Firmware 1.4 update adds 4K capture, isolated recording and NDI network streaming to the RØDECaster Video, Video S and Video Core. In 4K mode, the Video handles four 4K/30fps HDMI feeds; the S and Core handle three each.
Each camera feed can stream separately over a local network to software such as OBS, vMix or Ecamm Live, or record as an isolated 4K H.264 or H.265 track to an external USB-C SSD. Full HD Capture Mode supports 1080p at 60fps with the same separate-feed options; the existing Full HD live-switching mode remains the default.
Firmware 1.4 also extends RØDECaster Sync to all three video products, allowing a Video unit to connect by USB-C to a RØDECaster Pro II or Duo audio console and operate as a 9-channel audio-video studio; all tracks record in sync to one drive connected to the video unit. The update adds OpenTimelineIO export for rebuilding multicamera sessions in Adobe Premiere Pro, digital audio input from USB webcams and customizable shortcuts in the desktop app. It is available free through RØDECaster Central or directly on network-connected hardware.
