Quiet Riot has named 23-year-old Long Island vocalist John Torra as its new lead singer, replacing Jizzy Pearl, whose final show with the band was Sept. 18. Torra joins Rudy Sarzo, Alex Grossi and Johnny Kelly as the band resumes touring next month.
Band manager Regina Banali said Torra was chosen from more than 700 submissions to an open call. His audition video went viral and drew online support; he previously fronted New Jersey metal group Fire 'N Ice.
The tour schedule lists U.S. and Canadian dates, along with shows in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Bolivia. The first listed concert is Oct. 1 in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma.
