Premifab says its plant in Ivanić-Grad, Croatia, recycles about 3 million kilograms of contaminated solvents a year, distilling them for reuse in clients’ production lines. The company reports a 90% recycling rate for the material it receives.
The process starts with laboratory tests to assess whether each solvent can be recycled safely and economically. After distillation, quality checks can send material that does not meet specifications for further filtration. Residue is burned to supply energy to the plant, leaving ash that can be used as construction material.
Premifab says recovered solvents generate up to 10 times less CO₂ than primary production. Its customer Rotoplast, which uses solvents to dissolve printing inks, says it sends waste to Premifab and receives the material back for reuse, reducing production costs.
