Paraguayan budget airline Paranair will suspend all flights from Sept. 30 through Oct. 12 while its only Bombardier CRJ-200 undergoes scheduled maintenance, then plans to resume regular routes Oct. 13. Affected passengers will be offered rebooking or refunds.
The suspension disrupted travel agencies in neighboring countries that had booked customers for trips to Paraguay. Carlos Pera, president of Uruguay’s travel-agency association Audavi, told El Observador that the suspended Asunción–Montevideo route caused “great concern and unease,” particularly because many business travelers travel between the two countries.
Paranair said travel agencies had received information to relay to clients and handle affected bookings. It urged travelers to check their booking status through the airline’s official channels or their travel agency.
