The Padres beat the Dodgers 4-2 Thursday to secure a third straight postseason berth, a franchise first. Tyler Glasnow struck out a season-high 11 but allowed three runs on three hits; Los Angeles went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position.
The game was scoreless until Salas and Tatis singled in the sixth and Dustin Harris’s fly ball brought Salas home. San Diego added three runs in the seventh after Glasnow exited with a double and a walk: Austin Hays, Salas and Tatis each drove in a run. Los Angeles scored on an Adrián Morejón balk in the eighth and Shohei Ohtani’s RBI double in the ninth.
