Ole Miss beat LSU 32-24 and climbed to No. 4 in the AP Top 25, its highest ranking since finishing No. 3 last season. The Rebels are part of an SEC field of 10 ranked teams, tying the conference record and raising the challenge of sustaining their position.
Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss completed 33 of 48 passes for 363 yards, two touchdowns and an interception against LSU. He said the game meant more and emotions were high; former Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin, who helped develop him, was on LSU’s sideline after leaving for the team.
Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding is 4-1 against ranked opponents. Among the SEC’s 10 ranked teams, Texas is No. 1, Georgia No. 2 and Alabama No. 8.
