The NWSL added a match to Utah Royals defender Ana Tejada’s automatic suspension, making it a two-game ban after her red card against Angel City FC. She will miss Sept. 27 against North Carolina Courage and Oct. 3 against Racing Louisville FC.
Tejada received the red card in the 21st minute after a VAR review, triggering an automatic one-match suspension. On further review, the NWSL Disciplinary Committee determined the incident met the threshold for a violation of Section 12.4.11, “Major Game Misconduct,” in the league’s Operations Manual.
