The NFL fined Cincinnati Bengals receivers Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase a combined $89,556 over their first-down and touchdown celebration. Higgins described the WWE-inspired move as a first-down routine and said they will have a new celebration Sunday.
Higgins’ fines total $59,704, while Chase received two fines totaling $29,852. Each fine was $14,926.
On the Kay Adams Show, Higgins said online discussion was making the celebration seem like something it was not. Chase said players should seek help from the NFL Players Association to fight the fines, adding that he believed tweeting about them could bring another fine.
