Wendy’s worker who tied neurodivergent worker to grill faces charges

Former Wendy’s manager faces charges over allegedly tying a neurodivergent worker to a grill.

Murfreesboro, Tennessee, police said Michiko Burton, 19, was charged with simple assault and false imprisonment over the August 30 incident. Police said she admitted tying the employee to the equipment but described it as part of a TikTok trend. The worker told police he was not upset or injured; his family later asked investigators to reopen the case. Burton is due in court October 22.
