JFK, Boston and other US airports hit by delays after outage

A communications malfunction led to ground stops at major US airports, the FAA says.

The stops affected airports in New York City, Boston and Philadelphia. Dozens of flights were stranded on runways Monday morning as delays spread; US media linked the issue to frequencies at Philadelphia air traffic control. Boston Logan warned travellers of equipment issues across the Northeast.
