3000 Post Oak Realty LLC acquired Houston’s empty 19-story former Bechtel tower at 3000 Post Oak Boulevard; the sale price was not disclosed. The 433,528-square-foot building is 100% vacant after Bechtel moved out in 2024.
Realty News Report said the tower could be repurposed for residential or hotel use, or kept as office space.
The tower reportedly sold for $175 million in 2014. Chron previously reported that its previous ownership group faced pressure from $80 million in debt after Bechtel vacated. Realty News Report said office sale prices have fallen significantly since 2014, with the pandemic, work-from-home trends and corporate downsizing adding pressure to older buildings.
