Motley Fool

Global defense spending reached $2.9 trillion last year, about 2.5% of world output. The Motley Fool identifies RTX and Honeywell Aerospace as potential beneficiaries, citing RTX’s $289 billion backlog and Honeywell’s $500 million plan to expand U.S. facilities.

The article says the White House’s fiscal 2027 defense budget request totals $1.5 trillion, 42% above 2026. It says RTX’s backlog could reach $460 billion by the end of 2028 and reports that the U.S. spent nearly $23 billion this summer to encourage RTX to accelerate Tomahawk production.

Honeywell Aerospace recently spun off from Honeywell Technologies to become a standalone public company. It was trading 45.1% below its 52-week high on Sept. 23, according to the article. Its military products include navigation equipment, aircraft and tank engines, sensors and communications gear.
