A Motley Fool analysis predicts Nvidia shares will outperform AMD over the next 12 months, citing a lower valuation: about 15 times projected fiscal 2028 earnings versus AMD at 40 times projected 2027 earnings. AMD has climbed 187% in 2026, compared with Nvidia’s 22%.
Nvidia’s fiscal second-quarter revenue rose 106% year over year to $96.2 billion, while net income increased 126% to $59.7 billion. The company forecast $108 billion in fiscal third-quarter revenue. CFO Colette Kress said Nvidia expects fiscal 2028 revenue growth of about 70%, while noting the outlook is constrained by supply.
AMD reported record second-quarter revenue of $11.5 billion, up 50% year over year; its data-center revenue more than doubled to $6.7 billion. CEO Lisa Su expects that segment’s revenue to more than double again in 2027. The analysis says strong demand for AMD’s Helios AI systems could support its outlook, but a sharp drop in AI spending could hurt both stocks.
