Missouri hosts the eighth annual Gans Creek Classic on Friday, Sept. 25, with the women’s 6K at 8 a.m. and men’s 8K at 9 a.m. SEC, Big Ten and ACC programs are among the field, giving the Tigers a midseason test before the Wisconsin Nuttycombe Invitational.
The two-day event includes collegiate and high school races. Both Mizzou teams placed second at last week’s Billiken XC Invite in St. Louis; coach Kyle Levermore described it as a training effort, not a full effort.
Mizzou plans to race almost its entire roster. Emmanuel Kiprop made his season debut at the Billiken meet, and Levermore expects him to be a major contributor in the Tigers’ top five. Morgan Yeomans returned to cross country there after finishing fourth at the Canadian U20 Championships.
