Microsoft added Code to its Copilot app on Sept. 25, letting users describe an app or dashboard in plain language; it runs on the engine behind GitHub Copilot. Early access is due at month’s end, with a preview for paying subscribers later this year.
Microsoft also put Word, Excel and PowerPoint inside Copilot and relaunched its Scout agent as Autopilot. In a private preview, Autopilot is set to have its own company-directory identity and administrator-controlled permissions. Microsoft says governance and compliance concerns have been the main obstacle to using agents in large organizations.
