Miami’s defense forced three turnovers and held Central Michigan’s quarterbacks to 5.3 yards per pass attempt. Marquis Lightfoot had two sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss; Omar Thornton added one sack and two TFLs.
Miami was penalized 13 times for 107 yards, compared with Central Michigan’s six flags for 36. Mark Fletcher Jr. sat out as a precaution, while Girard Pringle and Javion Mallory averaged 5.4 and 6.0 yards per carry, respectively.
