UConn lost 24-21 to Miami (Ohio) despite leading 14-0 in the first quarter. The RedHawks tied it by halftime and won on a 33-yard field goal after Kalieb Osborne threw an interception in UConn territory. Osborne finished with 215 passing yards and two touchdown passes.
Osborne completed 17 of 32 passes and added 88 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground. Miami starting quarterback David McComb left in the fourth quarter. UConn had one last chance with three minutes remaining, reaching Miami’s 38-yard line before failing on fourth down.
UConn returns to Rentschler Field for a homecoming game against Syracuse on Saturday, Oct. 3, at noon. The game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
