Meta says privacy and security were built into its Muse AI agent from the start as it seeks users’ trust to connect it with calendars, inboxes and shopping carts. CEO Mark Zuckerberg says adoption depends on trust; whether the safeguards will be enough remains unclear.
Zuckerberg says 43% of people worldwide use Meta products, including Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads. KeyBanc managing director Justin Patterson raised his Meta price target to $900 after Muse’s announcement; Meta shares were up almost 13% over the previous week.
The analysis argues that people may be wary of Zuckerberg yet still use Facebook and Instagram to message friends and share personal moments. It says some potential users could instead wait for Google’s autonomous agent or a future enhanced version of Siri.
