Lonzo Ball denied retiring after podcast remarks fueled speculation, writing on X that he is “still waiting for a call.” The 28-year-old guard is without a team as the 2026-27 NBA season approaches; he played for Cleveland last season.
On his “Ball in the Family” podcast, Ball said he felt he had given basketball everything and was grateful to have reached the NBA and played for nine years. In 2025-26, he started three games for Cleveland, averaging 4.6 points and 3.9 assists per game.
