Locus launches checkout tool to match delivery promises with logistics capacity

Sourcing Journal

Locus launched Delivery Promise Management, linking checkout to real-time logistics data so retailers can offer feasible delivery options. In a test of one retailer’s historical orders, the company says 98.5% of orders had feasible windows and orders lacking a slot fell 58%.

The product checks warehouse cutoffs, linehaul connections and last-mile route capacity. It also supports delivery-slot selection, appointment scheduling, tiered pricing, and eco-friendly or capacity-based choices. Locus says the tool is available ahead of peak season and connects through APIs to retailers’ existing systems without requiring a technology-stack rebuild.

Locus said its consumer research found 51% of consumers expect holiday shipping to be as fast or faster than normal. Its research also found 93% of U.S. shoppers say on-time delivery affects how they view a company, while fewer than one in 10 believe retailers always meet fast or guaranteed delivery commitments.
