Linda Cohn said Caitlin Clark needs to respect her coach and suggested Clark may respect Cheryl Reeve’s tough-love style. Cohn expected Stephanie White’s arrival to work with Clark but said it did not; the comparison is her interpretation, not confirmation of Clark’s views.
Clark and Reeve had a heated moment during Indiana’s win over Minnesota, then were later seen smiling. Cohn’s comments came amid speculation about Clark and Fever coach Stephanie White after Clark appeared frustrated while speaking with White during a loss to Washington and had an animated conversation with assistant Briann January in the following game. Neither exchange confirmed a deeper disagreement; Clark said public discussion of the coaching staff is “not always based in reality.”
Clark and Reeve have known each other since the 2024 Olympic roster debate, when Reeve was frequently questioned about Clark’s omission from Team USA. Clark later selected Reeve as one of her coaches for the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game.
