Kurt Warner said he did not urge Jayden Daniels to play through his re-dislocated left elbow or question his toughness after criticism of his comparison with his own injury. Daniels is week-to-week; Marcus Mariota will start against Seattle.
Warner recalled dislocating his left elbow with the Arizona Cardinals in 2007 and returning the following week in a brace. Because Daniels’ injury is to his non-throwing arm, Warner said a similar return might be possible, while acknowledging that Daniels is younger and more mobile.
The Commanders said Daniels will not undergo surgery or be placed on injured reserve after evaluations with multiple specialists. Coach Dan Quinn said the team would wait for all available medical information before making further decisions; there is no official timetable for Daniels’ return.
