Israel’s newest submarine, INS Drakon, can stay at sea longer and carry more and higher-quality weapons, its commander told the Jerusalem Post. The navy’s deputy chief said the added endurance could help support missions in distant places such as Iran and Yemen.
Cmdr. “A” also cited electrical and oxygen-system capabilities among the benefits of the submarine’s greater length. The Jerusalem Post visited INS Drakon at sea near Haifa.
