Production has begun on “Baile,” an Irish-language comedy co-commissioned by BBC Gaeilge and TG4. Marion O’Dwyer plays Bríghid, who is in the early stages of dementia; Hazel Doupe plays Naomi, a cleaner who drives her from Belfast to her childhood home in Donegal.
“Baile” is the third feature commissioned through Gealán, a collaboration between BBC Northern Ireland, TG4 and Northern Ireland Screen’s Irish Language Broadcast Fund. Filming is taking place in Belfast, Moira and Tyrella Beach, as well as County Donegal.
