Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi proposed reopening the Strait of Hormuz and restarting nuclear talks in seven days if the US ends its naval blockade, lifts sanctions and agrees to a ceasefire, the Associated Press reported. The terms remain a proposal.
Araghchi outlined the terms at a private gathering during the UN General Assembly, according to the AP. The offer resembles a June memorandum of understanding that called for a 60-day interim period but quickly collapsed after Iran resumed attacks on shipping in the strait.
