Days after the iPhone 18 Pro’s Sept. 18 launch, social-media posts claimed green, pink or red screen lines, but the evidence is too limited to establish a widespread defect. The number of affected phones is unknown, and Apple had not officially responded at the time of reporting.
An X post around Sept. 23 included two videos purportedly showing pink and green lines and said a reset did not resolve them. A separate Reddit image drew skepticism because the line appeared to run behind the Wi-Fi icon. The examples’ ownership, handling history and cause remain unverified; drops, pressure, bending or liquid exposure have not been ruled out. Separate Face ID and freezing reports are not evidence of the same display issue.
iFixit advises restarting the phone and checking whether the line remains visible across screens and during startup, then contacting Apple Support or an authorized service provider if it persists. A factory reset can help rule out a software cause but cannot repair physical panel damage; iFixit says persistent lines may require display replacement.
