Instinct’s “Trusted Person” feature lets partners’ AI agents coordinate plans and shared tasks. Users say it eases reminders, but a therapist says couples still must prompt and oversee the agents—and can argue over responsibility when a task is missed.
Entrepreneur Alex Borkin said he and his wife used the feature for a shared to-do list and reminders for their daughter’s birthday party. Investor Luba Yudasina said her agent disclosed too much while contacting her boyfriend about a surprise. Instinct may need access to email, calendars or credit cards for some tasks; users have reported privacy and security concerns, hallucinations and what appeared to be leaks of strangers’ data. Borkin said he linked retailer accounts, not his card, and used a throwaway email.
Therapist Annie Wright said delegating logistics does not resolve the relationship issue behind them: software can arrange a family visit without settling a disagreement about how much time to spend with relatives. She also distinguished using AI to help express care from outsourcing the attention that makes a gesture meaningful.
