Hyperliquid could top Bitcoin under a five-year growth scenario

The analysis assumes Bitcoin repeats its past decade’s 34% annual growth, putting its market cap above $7 trillion in five years. Only Hyperliquid among three rivals would top that level if recent gains persisted; Venice could theoretically catch up.

Zcash had a $26 billion market cap and a 195% year-to-date gain; NEAR Protocol, $6 billion and 203%; and Hyperliquid, $23 billion and 267%. The article also cites Venice, an AI token up 1,760% year to date, after widening its comparison to cryptocurrencies worth at least $1.5 billion.

The author cautions that sustaining such growth for five years is unreasonable to expect given crypto’s volatility; Bitcoin itself has struggled to string together three good years in a row. Hyperliquid’s HYPE token launched at the end of 2024 and, the author says, has not shown Bitcoin-like resilience across economic cycles. The article notes that earlier Bitcoin challengers have all failed to overtake it.
